Planets:Mercury

 I'm going to introduce all of planets in the solar system! The first one is Mercury.

 Mercury is the smallest planet in the solar system. And it is the closest to the sun. It is classified in a terrestrial planet. Terrestrial planet means a planet which has a rocky surface like Earth. It has no known satellites. It has orbital period of about 88 days. Its diameter is 38% of Earth. It is smaller than Ganymede(Jupiter's satellite) and Titan(Saturn's sattelite).

 Its name is derived from the god, Mercurius. Mercurius is a guardian god of  merchants and travelers.




 I think Mercury is similar to the Earth's moon.




 Don't you think so?  The color of Mercury is resemble to the Earth's moon. And the most resemble thins is that there are many craters on Mercury and the Earth's moon.


 There are many mysteries of Mercury. Mercury is close to the sun so it is difficult to investigate about Mercury. I want to know more things about Mercury!!
